The legendary Chao Pi

This Shar Pei with the name ChaoPi (巢皮) belonged to the highly respected breeder Huang ZhuHua. He found this dog in 1988 at a private pig farm near the Foshan Airport and bought it for 1350 yuan. Until today this dog is considered to be the most expensive SharPei ever sold in China. Back then the average monthly salary was just around 100 yuan. Mr Huang had to take an additional job to save enough money for this dog.

ChaoPi was a sensation back then as she was considered a perfect SharPei according to the old chinese standard. Many people came to see this dog, even several people from HongKong, who did take the first pictures of her.

Until today ChaoPi is a legend in China and known by all breeders.
